TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the Nikon D4, a Nikon FX-format camera that serves as the new flagship model in Nikon's line-up of digital-SLR cameras. Nikon will be exhibiting the D4 at the 2012 International CES, to be held Tuesday, January 10 through Friday, January 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This electronics exhibition is open to the public. - - New 16.2-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor (36.0 x 23.9mm)
- - Latest generation of Nikon’s EXPEED 3 image processing engine
- - New 91,000-pixel 3D colour matrix meter
- - ISO range from 100 to 204,800 for low-light capture
- - Advanced Multi-Cam 3500, 51-point AF System for maximum speed in a variety of challenging shooting situations
- - 15 cross-type sensors in the centre to detect contrast data in both vertical and horizontal planes
- - Full resolution JPEG or RAW files at up to 10 fps with full AF / AE or up to 11 fps with AF / AE locked
- - AF sensor, including subject colour as detected on the 91,000-pixel RGB sensor
- - 16 bit pipeline written to dual card slots optimized for the latest UDMA-7 Compact Flash cards, and the new XQD memory cards
- - In-camera High Dynamic Range (HDR) function that merges consecutive exposures.
- - Full HD video recording including: 1080p 30/24fps and 60 fps at 720p
- - B-Frame data compression method, users can record H.264 / MPEG-4 AVC format video for up to 20 minutes per clip
